Party Pictures!

Check out some pictures from the party! If you have some that you'd like to share, please email them to Jack or Celia.

Some of the photos are a little grainy when viewed in the slide show mode, but you can see them okay in the thumbnail model. Take a look at them on Flickr HERE

Thank you!!!

Thank you, all of you, for making our post-wedding wedding bash so much fun! We hope you had a great time--we did!

And thanks, Chief O'Neill's and Alliance Bakery and Cattails flower shop for the great food, cakes and flowers!

If you're still in town on Monday night...

come join us for a baseball game...it's the White Sox v. Baltimore and we have a bunch of tickets (not great seats or anything, but tickets, nonetheless). Game starts at 6:05. Let us know if you're interested in tix.

free hats and fireworks alert!--there will be a fireworks display that night at the game...plus they're giving away free White Sox hats to the first 25,000 attendees (apparently, US Cellular Field [aka "the Cell" or the stadium formerly known as Comiskey Park] can hold over 40,000) .

For those in town on Fri. night...

we have tentative plans to meet up at a bar called Phyllis' Musical Inn (see the link on the sidebar to the left) on Friday night. We'll be having a family Simpross dinner beforehand and will show up around 9:00 or so. Just something to consider if you're looking to hang out on Friday.

free concert Thursday before the wedding bbq!

Or, as the French say, "concert libre le jeudi avant le charbon de bois de mariage!"

If early arrivals are interested, we may head on over to Millennium Park on Thursday, June 29th, for a free concert by Seu Jorge. You may remember Seu Jorge from such films as City of God, where he played "Knockout Ned." Or maybe you heard him playing bossa-nova renditions of Ziggy Stardust and other David Bowie tunes in the film the Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou? He'll be at the Metro the night before, but tix to that event are $50-160!

Here's a link to more info about this and other Millennium Park events. It's also over on the left in the sidebar area.

chicago lodging tips

It will be a busy holiday weekend here in chicago (sorry!) so out-of-towners may want to book rooms soon. Our futons and floor space are spoken for (although we might be able to cram in one or two more hearty souls), but here are some options for lodging:

Hotwire: Hotwire doesn't tell you exactly which hotel you're getting, only its star rating and the price. But anything you could find for a good price in downtown chicago would be a good bet.

Expedia or Orbitz: These are two other good sites to try to find a hotel deal.

Ray's Bucktown B&B
: We've never actually been in this place, but it's fairly close to our place (we're about two miles west of downtown) and looks fun for those who can spend $139-149 or so.

Chicago B&B's: Use this site if you'd like to search across area Bed & Breakfasts.

Chicago Trip Advisor: If you want to take a look at reviews of hotels you're considering or get some recommendations, check out this site.

Hope this helps! Please let us know if you have any questions about where to stay or if you need help booking a place.

couple's skate

It's well known that both Jack and Celia are obsessed with ice skating. They were married during a zamboni break and then got right back on the ice.

jack & celia got married

After a whirlwind eight year courtship, Jack and Celia got married at the Chicago Cultural Center on the 19th of November 2005. Now that the "official" stuff is over with, we're having a party to celebrate. You can find all kinds of info here about the party, visiting Chicago and more.
